Year 1 - Da Vinci

Welcome to Da Vinci Class

Here you will find out important information about our class. You will also be able to view our home learning sheets for each half term and view photos of us learning and having fun.

The Da Vinci team consists of Miss Webb, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Haydn-Davies. Please feel free to come and see us after school if you have any questions or concerns.

We have an exciting year of learning ahead so keep checking back for further information, photos and updates.

Thank you for your continued support!

Reading

We highly encourage and support parents to read with their children at home as this not only helps to develop their reading skills but their enjoyment and pleasure for reading too. Therefore, children who read 5 times or more at home over the course of the week are entered into a raffle with the winner being able to choose and keep a book. If you read with your child at home, simply record it in their home school diaries. Thank you for your support.

Library day: Monday.

Banded book change: Friday.

Topic

Our topic this half term is Plants and Animals, learning all about the different types of plants and animals, what they need to grow and where they live.

We had a super trip to Marwell Zoo which has hooked the children in to this exciting topic!

PE (Summer 2)

This half term we will be doing outdoor PE every Tuesday Afternoon.

Please make sure your child has their PE kit and trainers in school, thank you!

Forest School

Forest School is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn outdoors, developing new skills and gaining invaluable experiences. We are very lucky to be taking part in Forest School during the Summer Term.

Half of Da Vinci took part in Forest School last half term (Summer 1) and the other half will be taking part in it this half term (Summer 2). Forest School sessions will take place Thursday afternoon.

Any parent volunteers would be greatly appreciated, we can only go ahead with the sessions if we have enough adults to help.

Please ensure your child has a change of clothes and a pair of wellies so that they can take part in every exciting session.

Check out the photo gallery to see what we have been getting up to.
