Year 3 - Newton

Welcome to Newton Class

This year, Newton Class is being taught by Mrs McDade and the lovely Mrs Evans is our Teaching Assistant.  We have an exciting year planned which includes lots of active learning. Keep popping back to our class page and have a look at the photographs to see what we have been learning.

If you have any queries or concerns, please feel free to write them in your child's diary or come and talk to us at the end of the day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

School Council Representative

To represent Newton Class's view at school council meetings Sky was voted as the class representative.  This democratic process highlighted the class's focus on British Values and the UN Rights of the Child.

Rights Respecting Representative

To support the work in school on the further development of our rights respecting ethos Poppy was voted to represent Newton Class.

Eco Representative

To develop the science curriculum and the focus on protecting and respecting the environment a new Eco group has been established.   Sophie was (through democratic voting) elected to represent Newton Class.

Well done to the three children who hold these important roles and to all the children who volunteered their support and gave some excellent speeches.

P.E

During Autumn 1, our outside PE day is Thursday and our week-long gymnastics focus will be week commencing Monday 25th September.  Children will however need to keep their PE kit in school all week, every week, as we will try to slot in other PE sessions if possible.  Please ensure all items are clearly named.

P.E. kit includes:

Endeavour P.E. t-shirt, or plain blue or white t-shirt

Black shorts

Black jogging bottoms or leggings

Plimsolls or trainers

Blue or black sweatshirt or hoodie

Please include a pair of white socks if your daughter wears tights to school.

Forest School

Our Forest School sessions will take place on Monday mornings. We will have Forest School on:

Monday 11th September 2017

Monday 18th September 2017

Monday 25th September 2017

Children should arrive at school in their Forest School clothing and bring their uniform with them. Children will need to wear old clothes. They will need: trousers, socks, t-shirt and a sweatshirt fleece jumper to keep them warm as we go out in all weather. Named wellington boots are also required, however the school does have a small supply if your son/daughter doesn't have a pair.
