Writing at Endeavour

At Endeavour Primary School, we believe that children should have the opportunity to write for a range of purposes and in a real-life context. All of our writing is integrated into our projects and forms an essential element of our curriculum. Writing is at the heart of every project and the foundation subjects are used as a vehicle to drive and enhance our writing outcomes.

We use literature that is linked to the subject matter of the Project or Reading Workshop as this allows the children to explore genres in a familiar context and allows them to make links in their learning. The children are given the opportunity to absorb the chosen text, getting to know the characters and plot, researching fact and opinion, which then acts as a stimulus and drive for exciting written pieces of their own.

When children leave Endeavour, we want to ensure they are equipped with the essential literacy skills and passion which will fully prepare them for the learning challenges and opportunities still to come.
