Stubbington Residential

Monday 19th February 2024 - Day One

Today, Year 4 safely arrived at Stubbington Study Centre. When we got here, we had a tour of the grounds and unpacked our belongings. We tucked into a delicious lunch before starting our first activity. Group 1 completed the earthquake obstacle course, group 2 visited the beach and group 3 tackled ‘Amazon adventure’. We have enjoyed spending time with our friends and the different options available during free play. Tonight, we have enjoyed a yummy dinner and are now watching a wildlife show. Stay tuned for more updates!

Tuesday 20th February - Day Two

Morning

After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, Year 4 have had a fantastic morning full of fun activities. Group 1 have taken part in ‘Amazon adventure’, group 2 have completed a small mammal study and group 3 have tackled ‘Earthquake’. This is an obstacle style course that requires teamwork to move equipment around a course without touching the lava floor. Children are now tucking into their lunch before a busy afternoon of more activities. Another update and photos coming later!

Afternoon

A fun filled and busy afternoon for Year 4! Groups 1 and 3 visited the beach where they made rock pools, went fossil hunting and had a sand building competition. Group 2 tackled the Earthquake obstacle course. Over the 3 days, each group will complete every activity. After free play, each group took part in team challenges. We are now enjoying a delicious dinner of pizza and chips before an evening of fun activities.

Evening

What a fantastic final evening of our residential!  After dinner, we had the choice to either sketch animal taxidermy or use clay to create an animal model. Then, we all took part in a team challenge where we had to work together in groups to work out the suspect of a crime by solving clues and finding the missing pirates. We found it hilarious when our teachers burst out of a room dressed as pirates. Over both evenings, all children have had the opportunity to visit the hide in the hope of seeing animals out in the wild. We were lucky enough to see badgers and fox. Our evening ended with a group sing a long whilst Mr Abbott played his guitar. Everyone will sleep well tonight, ready for our final morning of fun tomorrow.

Wednesday 21st February - Day three

We’ve had a busy and fun filled final morning at Stubbington. After a delicious breakfast, everyone packed up their belongings (hopefully everything that came is coming back home) and tidied their rooms for a final room inspection. Each group then took part in their final activity with groups 1 and 3 completing their small mammal study and group 2 tackling team challenges. We’re now tucking into our final lunch before boarding the coaches at around 13.30 for the journey back to school. Everyone has had an amazing time and made wonderful memories that will last for years to come. The adults are all so proud of how Year 4 have exemplified our school ANCHOR values and been outstanding ambassadors for Endeavour.
