Year R

Welcome to Year R at Endeavour Primary—your child’s first year at school. We’re excited to support you and your child as they settle into a new routine, build confidence, and begin learning through play. Our caring team focuses on creating a calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore.

In Year R, children develop essential early skills across the curriculum, including communication, early maths, physical development, and understanding the world around them. Lessons are planned to be engaging and age-appropriate, with lots of opportunities for practical activities, stories, songs, and hands-on learning. We also encourage independence, helping children manage their belongings, follow class routines, and try new tasks with support.

We know that starting school can bring questions and emotions for both children and parents. We will share clear information about expectations, key dates, and how you can help at home. If you ever have concerns, our team is here to listen and work with you to ensure your child’s wellbeing and progress throughout the year.
