Governance
Meet our Governors
Our School Governors play a really important role in the life of our school. Governors are volunteers, and not involved in the day to day running of the school, but are there to set, support and challenge the school leadership team on strategic direction. The work of the Governing Board is very varied and includes approving the whole school budget, approving school policies and looking at the results that are achieved.
The overall purpose of the Governing Board is:
- To raise standards of achievement for all children .
- To provide overall strategic direction for the school, working alongside the Leadership Team.
- To act as a critical friend to the Headteacher and Leadership Team, and to ensure accountability for the performance of the school and stakeholders.
Governors meet at least twice a term (this is the Full Board meeting), and there are committees that look in detail at areas such as finance and people. This helps to ensure Governors have a really comprehensive understanding of the school. In addition to attending meetings, governors visit the school regularly to meet with teachers, admin, leadership and of course, the children.
The committees at Endeavour are:-
- Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
- Curriculum & Standards Committee
- Strategy Committee
- Pay Committee
The school is growing quickly and as a result of this, it has been agreed that the governing body can grow from 10 to 15 governors. If you would like to become involved in governance at Endeavour, please speak to Mrs Wilkins at school for an application form or to arrange to have an informal chat with one of the governors.
We will keep you up to date with governance through posting the minutes of our meetings on the website and through our newsletters.
