Forest School and PE
For Forest School sessions, children need to wear long trousers, long sleeved tops and layers of clothing (to accommodate a range of weathers). If chidren have them, they should bring in wellington boots, although there is a small selection of wellington boots available in school. Children also need footwear that can get dirty.
PE kit will need to be worn for PE lessons and this should include joggers/leggings and a long sleeved PE style top as the weather turns colder.
King Campus
Darwin and Anning Classes have forest school and PE on a Friday morning. Children should come to school dressed in their forest school clothing. They can either wear PE kit underneath forest school clothing or have their PE kit in a separate bag to change into.
Kirk Campus
Elton John and J K Rowlings Classes have forest school on each Friday morning and PE on a Friday afternoon. Children should come into school in their Forest School clothing and either wear their PE kit underneath or have their PE kit in a separate bag to change into.
Homelearning
Reading
Please read with your child as often as possible at home and record in their home school diary which is checked daily. Each class has their own reading race where for every day a child reads at home they move their name up the chart. When a child has read 4 times or more over the week they are entered into a raffle to win a prize at the end of each half term.
Spelling
Children will receive a weekly list of spellings to learn at home. These will be sent home every Friday and then checked in school the following Friday.
Multiplication Tables
By the end of year 4 children need to have an automatic recall of all multiplication tables to 12 x 12 and related division facts. The children will be supported in school to learn these tables and tested. However, focussing on these at home as well is imperative to ensure are as secure with these key skills as possible. Learning all the tables in year 4 ensures children are fully supported as they continue their maths learning in year 5 and beyond.
Project Homework
Homework linked to Project will be sent home each half term. This is an idea opportunity for your children to select from a range of homework options and create a fantastic piece of work, supported by parents/grandparents/siblings/friends.
Communicating with the Class Teacher
Please do speak to us if you have any queries or concerns. It can be a little tricky to speak on the door so it is advisable to write a note in your child’s school diary or book an appointment with your child's class teacher though the school email address: adminoffice@endeavour.hants.sch.uk.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to an exciting year ahead!
