Dance Live 2025

Endeavour Primary School's Dance Live! squad secured an outstanding second place in the Junior Heats at The Guildhall, Portsmouth on Friday 7th February, as part of the highly anticipated Dance Live 2025 competition. The school didn’t just come 2nd, they also won best costume.

The talented group, which consisted of 18 dancers and 1 lighting technician, impressed both judges and the audience with a performance that combined creativity, storytelling, and flawless choreography. The captivating theme of their routine, “Discover the Undiscovered,” encouraged the audience to explore the excitement of learning something new.

The performance was choreographed by the inspiring Lucy Lines (teacher and choreographer), with the project overseen by the school’s Music Subject Lead, Sabina Butler. The dancers embarked on a journey to “unearth” one of life’s many undiscovered questions. The message was clear: learning is far more interesting when you discover something unexpected.

The routine was inspired by the names of three of the school's classes: MacArthur, Cousteau, and Attenborough, each a tribute to famous explorers who dedicated their lives to discovering the unknown. The performance creatively blended elements of adventure, exploration, and curiosity, embodying the spirit of these iconic figures.

“Our students worked incredibly hard to bring this performance to life, they demonstrated our ANCHOR Values of Aspiration, Nobleness, Challenge, Happiness, Opportunity and Respect” said Sabina Butler, the Music Subject Lead.  “We wanted to create a story that would captivate and inspire the audience, while also encouraging them to think about the wonders of learning and discovery.” We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of our pupils who took part. The dedication, passion and resilience shone through on stage. We are so excited for the finals!”

Lucy Lines, teacher and choreographer echoed her praise: “It’s been a truly collaborative effort, with the dancers, lighting technician, and all involved putting in an immense amount of effort. We’re so proud of what they’ve achieved.”

The crowd at The Guildhall was captivated by the performance, and the judges recognized Endeavour Primary School for its exceptional team effort and innovative approach to the theme. The judges commented on the costumes that lit up.

Endeavour Primary School’s second-place finish in this prestigious competition has brought immense pride to both students and staff, reinforcing the value of creativity, teamwork, and a passion for learning.
