A Week of Ancient Adventures and Wintry Weather

This week has been full of memorable moments! Our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Butser Ancient Farm, immersing themselves in the world of the Iron Age. Despite the chilly conditions, their excitement never faltered. One of the most magical experiences was stepping inside the roundhouse, where the open fire glowed and smoke drifted upwards, creating an atmosphere that truly transported them back in time. It was wonderful to hear how so engaged and inspired by history our children were.

Back at school, winter has definitely made its presence felt. On Wednesday morning, while I was outside at Kirk welcoming everyone, we had sleet and even a few flakes of snow! It was a brisk reminder that Winter has arrived, however (more excitedly) the festive season is fast approaching. There are lots of events coming up over the next few weeks, details can be found on our website calendar.

This week has been national Children’s Grief Awareness Week. As a proud Simon Says Child Bereavement Support charity champion school, we have been capturing precious memories. Pupils have created heartfelt messages on hearts to share and hang on our special Memory Tree.

Our Christmas Fair is next week. It will take place after school on Friday 28th November at our KING Campus. This is always a highlight of the year, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for an afternoon of fun, games and festive cheer, including a very special red-suited visitor with his slay.

Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome Back – A Wonderful Start to the New Half-Term!

It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome our pupils back following the half-term break. From the moment the gates opened on Monday morning, each Campus was filled with smiles, laughter, and a real buzz of excitement for the learning ahead. Our children have returned with such positivity, energy, and a fantastic work ethic – it’s been truly heartening to see.

We were delighted to host staff from a local school on Monday, who visited us as part of their own professional development during their INSET day. They spent time in classrooms across the school and were incredibly impressed by what they saw.

Here’s just a snapshot of the wonderful feedback they shared:

  • “The children were working so hard – it was inspiring to see.”
  • “Behaviour was exemplary – such polite and respectful pupils.”
  • “There was a real buzz of energy and enthusiasm in every classroom.”
  • “The 4-Reads sessions were particularly impressive – so purposeful and engaging.”
  • “It’s clear that pupils are being stretched and challenged.”
  • “The standard of work being produced was incredibly high.”
  • “Routines were so well embedded – you’d never guess it was the first day back after half-term!”

I am so proud of our pupils and staff for creating such a warm, welcoming, and aspirational learning environment. It’s always a joy to see our school through the eyes of visitors, and their kind words are a true reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by everyone in our community.

Here’s to a fantastic half-term ahead!

A Warm Welcome to the New School Year - Headteacher's Message

We’re delighted to begin another academic year at Endeavour Primary School and to welcome both familiar faces and those new to our community — pupils, families, and staff alike.

From day one, the children have settled in brilliantly. The school is calm, purposeful, and filled with positivity. Classrooms are already buzzing with learning, and it’s wonderful to see pupils showing such enthusiasm, effort, and pride in their work. Their smiles and dedication shine through our school values and our 3Bs: Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Ready.

It’s remarkable to see so much achieved in such a short time. Staff and pupils have started the year with great energy, creating a happy and productive environment. We’re excited for the year ahead and all the opportunities it will bring.

Headteacher’s End-of-Year Message – July 2025

Dear Endeavour Families,

As we reach the end of another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements, joyful moments, and unforgettable experiences we've shared together.

One of the absolute highlights was our spectacular Year 6 production of Peter Pan. The talent, teamwork, and sheer magic on stage left us all spellbound. It was a true testament to the creativity and confidence our pupils have developed during their time at Endeavour. Bravo to everyone involved – you truly flew beyond expectations!

Across the school, pupils have worked incredibly hard and achieved so much this year. From impressive academic progress to sporting success, creative projects, and acts of kindness – every child has contributed to making Endeavour a vibrant and inspiring place to learn and grow. We couldn’t be prouder.

As we say goodbye for the summer, we also bid a fond farewell to those pupils and staff who are leaving us for new opportunities. Whether you're moving to a new school, a new role, or a new part of the world – thank you for being part of our Endeavour family. You’ll always be part of our story, and we wish you happiness and success in all that lies ahead.

Chicks, Ships and Heartfelt Thanks

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderfully busy and exciting few weeks we’ve had here at school!

Firstly, we were thrilled to welcome some very special new arrivals in Year R – our chicks! The children have been absolutely captivated watching the eggs hatch and caring for the fluffy little newcomers. It’s been a magical experience that has sparked so much curiosity and joy – a truly memorable moment in their early learning journey.

Meanwhile, our adventurous Year 2 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Titanic Museum in Southampton. They were fascinated by the exhibits and showed great interest in learning about the ship’s history and the stories of those on board. The visit really brought their project to life and inspired some brilliant follow-up work back in the classroom. It was also very lovely to receive feedback from the museum about how engaged, polite and thoughtful our pupils were - great work Year 2!

A huge well done to our incredible Year 6 pupils, who have shown such hard work, focus and determination throughout SATs week. We are so proud of the mature and positive attitude they brought to each test. They also thoroughly enjoyed their special SATs breakfasts each morning – a lovely way to start the day together and calm any nerves.

I’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you and well done to the rest of the school, who were so thoughtful and considerate during SATs week. Your kindness and quiet support made a big difference and helped create a calm and respectful environment for Year 6 to do their very best.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to more exciting learning and events as the term continues!

What amazing beautiful spring weather we have been enjoying. 🌸

I want to start by shouting out a huge congratulations to our Dance Live Squad for their great effort at the Dance Live Finals! Despite being the smallest squad there, their hard work and brilliant stage presence truly shone through. Competing at the Portsmouth Guildhall, they performed a choreographed routine against the backdrop of a giant digital screen, showcasing not only their dance skills but also their creativity and technical prowess. Their dedication and the fantastic performance they delivered were truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff involved in creating life-long memories for our children.

In the classroom, pupils have been embarking on some exciting geographical adventures:

  • Year 3 are focusing on the geography of the UK, with a special emphasis on the Lake District. Their studies will help them appreciate the beauty and diversity of our own country.
  • Year 4 are being wowed by the 'Land of Fire and Ice' as they investigate Iceland and its fascinating volcanoes. The excitement in their learning is a joy to see.
  • Year 5 are travelling across the Atlantic to explore Arizona through the lens of a geographer, examining how climate impacts the lives of people there. Their global perspective is expanding wonderfully.

We are also looking forward to celebrating VE Day in school. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about and commemorate this significant event in history. We have some exciting activities planned over the week that will help bring this important day to life for our children.

It's truly a joy to see the enthusiasm and curiosity our students bring to their learning. Thank you to all our dedicated teachers for making our projects come alive and for fostering a love of learning in our children.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Headteacher’s Blog – Welcome Back!

What a fantastic start we’ve had to the summer term, even with just a four-day week following the Easter break! It’s been a real pleasure to see our children return to school so settled, focused and eager to learn. As I walked around both campuses this week, it was lovely to be greeted by so many smiling, happy faces – it’s clear our pupils are ready for the exciting term ahead.

A huge well done to our incredible Dance Live squad, who gave it their all in the event finals in Portsmouth. Their energy, enthusiasm and teamwork were outstanding – we are so proud of every single one of them!

We also marked St George’s Day this week, learning about the history and traditions linked to England’s patron saint. As always, our pupils impressed us with their curiosity and engagement.

One of the biggest talking points this week, however, has been food! Our new catering providers, CleverChefs, have certainly made a brilliant first impression. From the very first lunch, children have been full of praise – with comments like “amazing”, “yummy”, “roast chicken was proper and not flat!”, “watermelon was delicious”, “extremely good”, “mouth-wateringly ace”, “brilliant burger”, and “tasty tasty”! It’s safe to say the new menu has been a hit, and we’re so pleased to see children (and adults) enjoying delicious meals every day.

Here’s to a term full of learning, laughter and great food!

A Week of Wonderful Learning and Memorable Moments

What a fantastic week it has been at school! From Year 6’s impressive posters explaining the purpose of blood to Year R’s creative outdoor activities, there’s been no shortage of exciting and inspiring moments.

In Year 6, our budding scientists have been delving into the human body, learning about its incredible systems. Their creativity has shone through in some amazing posters explaining the vital role blood plays in keeping us healthy. The pupils have really grasped the concept of how blood transports oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, and their artwork is a testament to their hard work and understanding. Well done, Year 6!

Year R have also been busy in the classroom and outdoors. They’ve been focusing on perfecting their letter formation, showing great determination to get each letter just right. Meanwhile, their counting skills have reached new heights, with many now confidently counting beyond 10. Outside, they’ve been enjoying a spot of gardening, planting flowers and expressing their creativity through painting. It’s been lovely to see them so engaged in the natural world around them.

A special mention to Year 4, who had the most amazing time at the Stubbington Outdoor Centre. The weather couldn’t have been better for their residential trip, and the children made memories that will last a lifetime. They had a fantastic time exploring nature, spotting foxes and badgers, and taking part in exciting team-building activities. There were plenty of moments for laughter and fun, but the true highlight of the trip came when Mr Hill took an unexpected plunge in the water during the rope swing challenge! It certainly added to the fun and was a moment the children won’t soon forget.

This week, we also took a moment to reflect and remember Zac, one of our dear pupils and friends, who we sadly lost a year ago. On Tuesday, we dedicated a beautiful cherry tree and a bench in his memory, as part of our ongoing development of a new sensory garden. It was a poignant and heartfelt moment, and we were grateful to everyone who joined us to pay tribute to Zac’s memory.

Before I sign off, just a quick reminder to purchase your tickets for our chocolate raffle and the upcoming school disco – both are available via Scopay. Don’t miss out on the fun and the chance to win some fantastic prizes!

As always, thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!

Exciting Adventures at School This Week

What a fantastic week we've had at school! It's been filled with creativity, learning, and lots of fun. Here's a glimpse into the wonderful activities our children have been involved in:

Year 2: Buggy Builders Our Year 2 pupils have been busy little engineers! After lots of designing, they've finally started building their buggies. The excitement in the classroom is palpable as they bring their imaginative designs to life. We can't wait to see the finished products zooming around!

Year 3: Swimming and Field Work Year 3 continue to make a splash with their swimming lessons. It's wonderful to see their confidence grow in the water each week. Additionally, they had a delightful geography field trip to the charming village of St Mary Bourne. The students explored the local environment and investigated the village's traffic alongside looking at the local church and stream, making it a memorable adventure.

Year 6: SATs Preparation Our Year 6 students have been working incredibly hard as they prepare for their SATs. Their dedication and focus are truly commendable. We're proud of their efforts and know they'll do their very best.

Comic Relief: Red Nose Day A huge thank you to everyone for your support during Comic Relief's Red Nose Day by wearing red. The enthusiasm and generosity shown by our school community were heart warming. Together, we raised funds for a great cause and had a lot of fun in the process.

A reminder that school starts at 8.45am. Pupils MUST be in class for registration at this time. Gates to the school grounds open at 8.35am. We have noticed there have been a number pupils arriving late each day and urge parents to make sure their children are at school on time to start their learning.

Don't miss out on purchasing raffle tickets for our Easter chocolate raffle - these are available on scopay for £1 each.

Thank you for being part of our school's journey. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon!
